About Me

I am a qualified and registered counsellor and teacher with 20 years’ experience in teaching, facilitation, and counselling across high schools, private practice, and general practice settings. My background also includes work within the health
sector, The Compulsive Gambling Society, and a national counselling leadership role.

I previously worked with Melanoma New Zealand as their National Lead Counsellor, setting up their first counselling service, whereby I was supporting individuals and families throughout all stages of treatment through counselling, support groups, peer connection services, and access to practical and emotional support.

I like to spend my free time with friends, family, and my three adult children.  I find work-life balance through mixed-media art, yoga, and nature. Over ten years ago, I co-founded and still serve on the committee for Rock The Hithe, a six-hour annual music and charity fundraiser originally to raise well needed funds for Hospice, now RTH supports the amazing work of a charity called BellyFul in memory of my mother.
